Depth, Archetypal & Transpersonal Psychology
Depth psychology sits a little outside traditional and “respectable” psychology. I still consider this shelf of my apothecary as ‘talk’ therapy [hyperlink] because language and the mind are still central. But there is a willingness to breach beyond what is ‘knowable’ and rational and delve into the unknowable unconscious.
This deeper, darker realm is where we intentionally seek to work into our edges, explore the hidden parts, and bridge the gap between the conscious and unconscious. There is an acknowledgement of a shadow side to a person and culture, and the transpersonal recognises the Mystery, Soul and transcendent aspect of life experiences as integral to feeling whole.
This naturally incorporates both the personal realm and the broader collective realm, including the archetypal forces, our ancestry [hyperlink], the culture, economics, ecology, politics, place, and time we are born into and live amongst.
In sessions inner life and depth can be navigated through the body [hyperlink] and the symbolic [hyperlink] through tending to your imagination, synchronicities, dreams, myths and folk stories.
I have trained in person with Dr. Clarissa Pinkola-Estes and undergone psychoanalysis. I’ve completed multiple dreamwork, myth, and fairytale workshops/trainings, and I continue to study and read widely into Jungian, Depth, and Archetypal psychology. My work is guided and held by a connection to energetic [hyperlink] and spiritual [hyperlink] forces that we can speak to directly or allow to form part of the supportive landscape.
